oath & Stone weddings
We thought you looked a little extra loved up! Wedding stationery and graphic design is one of our extra special skills here in the studio, and we're pretty excited to share the love. We do things a little differently, and that applies to your big day too. Have a look through the services we offer, and then don't waste any time making the first move.
why we're different
Your relationship is about the magic in a weekend coffee and pulling over to buy mangoes on the side of the road. It's about the moments that happen when no-one is watching. It's not glamorous, but it's real, and we love that.
If you've been trawling Pinterest and your browser history is nothing but mason jars and burlap table runners, or you've found some beautiful rose gold foiled cards that still aren't quite you, it sounds like you need us in your life. Our approach is intelligent, purposeful and full of common sense. We think of the details that you might miss while you're working towards pulling off one of the biggest parties of your life. We put the zazzle back into your weary Pinterest-swiping thumb.
We use your engagement photos to create a unique invitation booklet, to keep all those pesky bits of paper about accomodation and gift registries together. We can design your save the date as an email, so your stamp money can go towards your bar tab. And most of all, we're all for Elvis weddings.
After winning the year three art competition, Trish knew she was destined for a creative life. Since 2007, Trish has worked for some of Canberra's best studios in design, marketing and account management. She knows what it takes to get the job done, and done well.
Trish saw a gap in Canberra's wedding scene when planning her own wedding in 2015. Her and her fiancé didn't feel comfortable with first dances, "death til we part" vows and frilly bits of fluff that didn't serve a purpose. They set out to challenge the idea of what a wedding could be, and create an experience that they would talk about for years to come.
Trish hopes to help brides and grooms (in whatever combination) create a wedding experience that will not only mirror the quirks of their relationship, but also set the stage for a truly unique experience. From the moment the save the date arrives, your guest will be counting down the days and planning their outfit to compliment your theme.
what's an oathing stone?
We've taken our name from the Scottish wedding tradition of the Oathing Stone, considered to be the most solemn of vows. Before rings were the convention, Celtic couples would hold a stone while they said their vows to cast the promise into it, hence the saying "set in stone". It was then sent on it's own journey, usually tossed into a river or lake.
Formally a Hamilton, Trish married into the Johnstone clan. With bagpipes in her blood and a stone in her name, Oath & Stone seemed the best fit.
